As our time together in Istanbul drew closer to an end, the weather improved! We had had some downright cool and drizzly weather and yesterday and today the sun came out and the warmth came back.
We decided that another Hamam was in order and chose one on our side of the Golden Horn. It had good ratings, but was not in a traditional old style Hamam. With time on our hands we had a pre wines, before discovering what processes the new place had.
We were handed a robe and something that I can only describe as a face mask for your boobs and another for your under regions…… in the end, why did they bother, naked would have been less uncomfortable! Hearing your Hamam lady say “don’t worry mam, I popped it back in for you!” is not the most relaxing thing I’ve heard!
The Hamam and massage was entirely thorough and hit some points in both of our backs that we didn’t know needed attention! Most of the Hamam workers seem to come from Indonesia, so we wondered about their working and living conditions and made sure we tipped them directly and well….. especially given that she popped my boob back into my chest face mask for me!
We had roof top drinks and a lovely dinner out after our Hamam…. Which was the best way to spend a day!

Our last day, we headed back out to the Princes Islands, this time Adalar. The sun was shining, it was warm and still and it was THE BEST way to wrap up our last day in Istanbul!
There were many options to do amazing things like hike the highest hill, but we happily opted for the coastal path. The architecture on Adalar is distinctive and the houses must cost a bomb!

We gained a little guiding friend called Dobi on our coastal walk. Can only presume he has a family somewhere, as he has a collar and a name tag. he walked a very long way with us, til we clearly took a Dobi unapproved route.

As the afternoon stretched forward, we headed down towards the water.

I did spy, with my little eye, something that looked like it might serve wine…. So we headed off for an exploration.

It was the perfect end to our last day in Istanbul, and the city showed off a little bit on our way home across the Bosporus.

We had an indulgent Turkish breakfast on our last morning, before we headed off to the airport to fly in different directions. Kylie, heading back to her new job in London, and I am heading off to KL for a few days in Malaysia.
