This trip was originally booked in December 2019….. and we all know what happened 2-3 months later! So 6 years later, it’s finally been booked back in (a small panic attack about the US’s latest “issues”) and this afternoon I was out and about in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Admittedly, I’m so tired from my flights (I believe it’s 2:00am Adel time at the moment and I definitely did not get my 8 hours on the plane!), that reading the fine print of things is a tad challenging. However, I have had a little wander through the old town of Baku, had a chat with a few locals, who a) wonder why very few young Australians come to Az and b) think I work out (? Or are they politely telling me I’m fat?! Prob that one!).
I look forward to getting into the old city more tomorrow, I was following the light today, so as the sun set, I found food pretty quickly, as bed is calling. Baku is a city of cats, they are everywhere!
Toni and Stephen arrive to join me tomorrow, and we are off on a Soviet era wine tour, so that should be interesting! And as for me, I am looking forward to 8 hours of sleep, see you all on the other side of that!
